Individual Ukrainian lessons for English speakers — online worldwide, offline in Kharkiv
We teach Ukrainian to English-speaking adults one-to-one: from the Cyrillic alphabet to confident everyday conversation. Lessons are 60 minutes, online in Zoom or Google Meet, scheduled around your time zone. If you are in Kharkiv, offline classes at our office are also available.
Our students are expats working with Ukrainian teams, partners and spouses of Ukrainians, NGO and humanitarian staff, diplomats and journalists, and heritage speakers who grew up abroad and want to reconnect with the language. Our teachers have experience working and studying in English-speaking countries, so they understand both sides of the language barrier and can give you handy guidelines for daily routines along with the grammar.
In the first weeks you master the alphabet and pronunciation: Ukrainian is phonetic, so once you know the letters, you can read. At A1–A2 you handle daily situations: shopping, transport, small talk with neighbours, official paperwork. From B1 you hold real conversations, understand fast speech and discuss work topics. The program is individual, so we spend time exactly where you need it, including Ukrainian business terminology if your work requires it.
Every lesson is one-to-one with a professional teacher, 60 minutes, with materials included and homework that fits a working adult's schedule. At the start teachers explain in English; as your level grows, lessons switch to more and more Ukrainian, so you get real listening practice from day one.
A B1-level certificate in Ukrainian is part of the application process for Ukrainian citizenship and for public-service positions. We prepare you for the official exam run by the National Commission on State Language Standards: you practise the exact format of the listening, reading, writing and speaking parts, and rehearse the typical tasks, so the exam day holds no surprises.
